Al Aseel Grill and Cafe is a Middle Eastern restaurant tucked into a busy stretch of Richmond Avenue in Houston, where the focus clearly lands on hearty, traditional dishes delivered with warmth and consistency. For those who appreciate Palestinian and broader Levantine flavors, this spot offers a practical, no-frills setting where the food does most of the talking.

The atmosphere inside is casual and welcoming, with a family-owned vibe that resonates through attentive and genuinely friendly service. While the dining area isn’t flashy, it’s the kind of place locals drop into for a solid meal rather than a night out. Many visitors seem to favor takeout options, making it convenient for a flavorful meal at home or the office.

Menu selections spotlight grilled meats like lamb chops, lamb and beef kebabs, and chicken shawarma, often served alongside rice and fresh salads such as Turkish or tabouleh salad. A standout is the half or whole roasted chicken served with rice and salad—a classic comfort choice that’s simple yet full of flavor. The hummus with meat and baba ghanoush appetizers add depth to the meal and make for a rich, traditional start.

Portion sizes tend to be generous, often leaving diners with leftovers, which speaks to the value and satisfaction level here. For those who prioritize flavor and authenticity over trendy decor, Al Aseel fits the bill. The spot works well for solo diners, families, and anyone craving a straightforward Middle Eastern meal with familiar, well-seasoned dishes.

Lunch and early dinner seem to be busy times, especially since the kitchen gets orders out quickly—perfect for those seeking a reliable, flavorful meal without a long wait. The steady stream of takeout orders suggests it’s also a go-to for quick meals that don’t compromise on taste.

In short, Al Aseel Grill and Cafe is best suited for locals and visitors looking for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine served in a laid-back environment with an emphasis on solid cooking, hearty portions, and friendly service.

Food is always fire!!! Bless the chef. Everyone is polite and amazing customer service. Family palestinian owned restaurant with a lot of pride. Please visit them. It is a hidden gem of middle eastern food. Mashawi is my favorite there too! Thanks for the greatest food!!

I was looking for some good lamb chops. I came across this place on Google. I placed it to go order over the phone. The lady who took my order was Nice. She informed me my food will be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived, my food was fresh. The plate came with lamb chops, rice and salad and a pita like bread. It was about $22. When I arrived home, I really enjoyed the lamb chops. They were seasoned and tender. The rice was really good and the salad was good, and the bread was so amazing. I definitely will be coming back. I’m glad I found this place.

The food is incredible. We sat inside but you can tell a lot of people order out. The staff is very friendly and the food is, again, unbelievably good.

This place was exactly what I wanted it to be. The food was out of this world..everything was packed full of flavor & the staff were kind. I didn’t get a picture of it, but the Stromboli is an absolute “Must-Order”. Definitely a new favorite!

It’s always a delight to come here. Service is always top notch as is the food. We always leave with leftovers since the portion of the food is big.

This place is a hole in the wall kind of restaurant, but the food was delicious. My boyfriend and I just happened to drive by and was curious so we gave it a try and we were so happy we did. It feels so authentic and we highly recommend it. Decent pricing as well.

This Mediterranean spot serves up amazing food! The grilled meats were full of flavor, the rice was delicious, and the bread was warm and outstanding. The service was friendly and made us feel right at home. A great place for authentic Mediterranean flavors and genuine hospitality. Checkout my video with sound.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5/5) We visited Al Aseel Grill & Cafe recently and ordered the chicken kebab and lamb kofta, both were absolutely delicious! The food quality was excellent, flavorful, and freshly prepared. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable, making it a great value overall. We would easily rate the food 5/5, but the environment brings the overall experience down slightly. The dining area could use some improvements in terms of atmosphere and decor—it’s functional but not very inviting, so we’d rate that part around 3.5/5. Still, we’ll definitely be back for the food. Highly recommended if you’re looking for tasty and affordable Middle Eastern cuisine in Houston!
